Divorce, Unemployment, Death, Family illness, Marriage, Children…the circle of life. People change and grow apart, have different priorities and needs. What happens when your life does not turn out as you had expected? How do you deal with stress, loss, celebrate your successes and acknowledge your failures? How do you move on when you lose someone or something that was an important part of your life for such a long time? What makes you happy? These are all questions I hope to be able to help my clients answer within their own lives.
If I have learned anything from the past five years of my life, is that our time on this earth is limited, and each moment is precious! On November 16, 2005, my life as I knew it changed forever! My 30-year-old sister, Sabrina, died of Uterine Sarcoma at 4:25 am, only 3 weeks after being diagnosed. I did not think I was going to be able to live without her. I did not handle her death well, as you could imagine for someone who spent 28 years of your life with, and lived with for 7 of those years as an adult.
Fast forward almost 5 years, and I am still here! It took me over a year to get my life back on track after losing Sabrina, but the lessons I learned about myself during that process were invaluable! Though it has taken me all this time to really be ready to take the next steps in my life and share what I have learned, I am finally at a place where I know exactly what direction I want my life to move in. I have made many positive lifestyle changes, and I am ready to help others with this process as well!
In my 33 years on this planet, here are some things that I have learned about life, death, love, job loss, and happiness in general:
- Everyone handles grief in a different way. There is nothing wrong with seeking counseling if you need it. There are many support groups out there. I try to talk about my sister as much as possible and keep her memory alive every day!
- Life is too short to be unhappy with yourself, your relationships, your job, or your business! Think about what makes you happy, what you NEED to be happy, and don’t settle for anything less! There is nothing wrong with having dreams and goals and reaching for the stars (though my dad and I have a differing opinion on this subject).
- You must love yourself first before you can truly be loved!
- A job is just that–don’t let your work define you, unless it is something that you truly love!
- Customer service is key to the success of any organization! If my years in the industry has taught me anything, is to recognize excellent customer service when I see it and be sure to report poor service as well!
- You can do anything that you set your mind to, you just have to have the right attitude, motivation, and support to see you through!
Whether you need a new look, help with your resume, customer service training for your business, or just someone to motivate you to become the person you want to be; I can help you become happier, more fulfilled person and reach whatever goal you have your sights set on!
